Nathan Sandberg will lead students through a series of exercises illustrating the methods he uses in his kilncast work, and in the process, participants will build a basic vocabulary for making relief sculptures in glass. Participants will use a variety of materials to make models and works that examine iterations of form and surface. Classroom activities and discussions will include, but not be limited to: open-faced investment mold making, color placement, multiple firings and low temperature kilncasting with frit.
