How does an artist move from inspiration or idea to a finished piece of work, realized in a particular medium? How does one find the right form, color or surface to express a concept or an impulse? In this course, students will develop a solid methodology for creating finished pieces in kiln-glass. They will sketch, perform tests, and make samples and models—conducting research into material and technique, as well as their ideas. Each participant will leave the class, not with finished kilnglass, but with enough information to make the work explored in the class and a solid process for workshopping ideas at home. No prerequisites. An excellent choice for artists coming to kiln-glass from other media.
