As a student in this workshop you will be provided with the fundamentals necessary to pursue fused glass, one of the most common forms of kiln-glass. The workshop will begin with exercises in glass cutting—including straight and curved cuts, as well as perfect circles and rings. From there, you will put these skills to work in designing, cutting and composing the parts necessary to make two fused and slumped plates. Discussions and demonstrations will cover the basics of kilnforming, from types of glass and mold materials to kilns and firing schedules. No prerequisites.
