Portrait Painting in Acrylic by Dan McBrideSaturday, July 30, 2011, 1:30-3:30pm – Portrait Painting in Acrylic by Dan McBride. Creative Intention: To capture the subject’s likeness by way of impassioned expression, exaggerated color, and loose proportion. To be achieved by painting from life, not photographs, using a guick and fearless approach! Dan consistently relies on portraiture as a touchstone for his abstract work. This genre continues to test his powers of observation, hones his drawing-with-brush-and-paint skills, and provides a means of finding solutions to handle artistic problems and challenges. “Faces are one of the most interesting things we see; people fascinate me, and the most interesting aspect of people, the point where we meet them, is the face. It tells all.”
