 Saturday, July 9, 2011, 1:30pm – 3:30pm – Digital Printing with Scott Bates. Ever wonder how the the big, fabulous prints of amazing works of art get made? Scott Bates will be at Artisan to show you. The papers, the printers, the inks; all the choices. He will show you how to use online resources and print images from both Mac and PC. He will also show print settings for Photoshop Elements, CS5 and Lightroom 3. The presentation will take 30-45 minutes and if time permits he will be able to print customer samples from their color corrected digital files.  Saturday, July 23, 2011, 1:30-4:30pm – Creating a Studio Landscape from Studies and Imagination by Coulter Prehm. Creating a studio landscape painting in oil is an exciting process. During this 3 hour demo Coulter Prehm will discuss not only the construction of a landscape but will also show and talk about the preparatory work involved. It will be a great opportunity to learn to build a studio painting utilizing only imagination and studies done in the field. |

Creative Intention: To capture the subject’s likeness by way of impassioned expression, exaggerated color, and loose proportion. To be achieved by painting from life, not photographs, using a guick and fearless approach! Dan consistently relies on portraiture as a touchstone for his abstract work.
