Camden spotted this piece while driving up St. Francis Drive and just had to stop for a closer look. Alex Barrett’s “Munch” is a real eye-catcher at nearly 7 feet tall and bright blue. This monument piece is built with aluminum and powder-coated. Some of the surfaces are fabricated by soldering or manipulating the metal with heat, while other portions are inflated to resemble Mylar. Wow! Learn more at http://alexbarrettsculpture.com.
Keep an eye on this corner, Alex likes to mix things up, switching out pieces on loan every year or so.
There is something familiar about this work. Camden thinks he’s seen it somewhere else around town…
