Stars light the path to the mountain top as the cool night wraps its fingers around the animals moving quietly through the forest. The full moon ascends in a brilliant robe of orange- yellow as it paints the surroundings in an ethereal glow. Spirits dance on the clouds as the nights’ melody resonates. Memories of ancient people whisper our names and the night gives way to red dawn entering on a wing. Brilliant turquoise skies are interrupted by big fluffy white clouds drifting by like a small white paper boat upon the water. Golden leaves flutter and fill the air with music. The smell of fresh blossoms and sweet earth push the dusty adobe bricks to the background and the colors burst upon the day with brilliant light and subtle song that fills my soul with peace.

To commemorate DIY Santa Fe, Santa Fe Creative Tourism and the Inn and Spa at Loretto are giving away a two-night, art-inspired getaway to Santa Fe in March 2012. To enter, contestants can visit DIY Santa Fe to complete the entry form (located below), which asks contestants to summarize in 150-words or less, what the ‘Spirit of Santa Fe’ means to them. A committee of DIY artist judges will read all submissions and select the final winner. The winner will be announced on Feb. 20, 2012 and will receive:
− Two night stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto
− Dinner for two with the artist in Luminaria
− $100 food and beverage credit
− Complimentary pass to a DIY Santa Fe artist workshop
