Come experience the power and community of African Dance in Santa Fe. Using the focus and choreographic skills from her classical dance education, Elise Gent has for 23 years built an extraordinary following of dancers of all ages. It is not uncommon on Saturdays at 11am to find 70 dancers and a dozen musicians filling the Railyard Performance Center with energy, sound, and motion. All skill levels are welcome.
Elise’s excellent teaching makes both the beginner and life-long dancer feel welcome, seen, and encouraged to learn dances from West Africa, the Congo, and Haiti. There is no other class like it in the USA.
