Creative Tourism, A Global Conversation (Excerpts) TRAVEL AS A CREATIVE TRIGGER by Charles Landry

Travel is the prism through which we will explore two words—creativity and experience. They constantly appear in brochures, books, and even headlines especially within the tourism world. They have emerged over the last decade with ever greater frequency. This indicates a problem. It appears we have too few chances to be creative, imaginative, inventive, and to express ourselves fully from within our deeper being. This leaves us feeling empty, as our spirit is not touched. For this reason, we are not feeling or triggering the full register or scale of experience we know we can have. Feelings of more profound, lasting meaning are too fleeting, rare and difficult to achieve. Travel often seems like an answer to capture special moments that then etch themselves into memory.
