This workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn the ancient art of encaustic painting from a master (for beginning & advanced).
Day One: A thorough introduction to the basics of encaustic techniques, including formulas for medium, applying, fusing, scraping and blending the medium.
Various tools and methods will be shown allowing the students to complete several finished paintings.
Day 2: A more advanced class, which will involve specialized tools and the combining of oils, collage, stencils, and other techniques. We’ll also build 3-D sculptural encaustic works. A basic knowledge of encaustic is required.

Where: Santa Fe Community College, Printmaking/Book Arts Studio
Note: You do not need to be enrolled at SFCC to attend.
Time: 9 a.m. til 5 p.m.
Cost: The cost is $175 each day, and it includes all materials needed to create many finished paintings.
