Begin the New Year by renewing your commitment to your creative spirit in an intensive art and writing retreat, IT’S TIME, January 20th – 22rd at the Rising Moon Gallery and Art Center in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
IT’S TIME is a three day workshop about connecting with and maintaining our creative focus. Creativity is in all of us. When we 
open doors to our creative source it impacts us spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. Artist Jaye Buros will guide us through hands-on intuitive and traditional studio art sessions: frying pan art, collage, paint and play that explore our own inner treasures. Author Lesley Poling-Kempes will lead us through writing exercises and journal work that initiate inner reflection and outer discussion about imagination and focus, loosening artistic inhibitions, and developing tools that encourage the muse in our daily lives.
Retreat facilitators: Jaye Buros holds a Masters in counseling and psychology, and has worked as a kindergarten teacher, reading coach, and educational consultant. A multi-media artist, her favorite creative ‘work’ is encouraging the artist within people of all ages! The Rising Moon Gallery and Art Center is Jaye’s new adventure/career. Lesley Poling-Kempes writes about the people and history of the Southwest. A writing teacher and mentor, Lesley is the author of six books about the Southwest. Jaye and Lesley are both long-time residents of Abiquiu.
The Rising Moon Gallery and Art Center will host the retreat. The Rising Moon is within walking distance of historic Bode’s Store on Highway 84, Abiquiu, where breakfast and lunch are available daily. Retreat participants may also dine at the Abiquiu Inn which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
