In this workshop we will be creating art from our immediate environment. Both our emotional environment and physical environment. We will gather materials from the surrounding land and earth going outside to connect and then bringing that which inspires us back into the studio. We will use what we have and give it life working spontaneously, using our feelings more than our intellect.
Boubakary Konseimbo is a self taught artist from the city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, West Africa. He was involved in a well known
art center in this city of 4 million people, called the Loukare Art Center, where he also showed his work and became a full time artist in residence in 2001. Bouba’s art is inspired by the imaginary; feelings, emotions, and the spiritual. He uses any materials that are available when he is inspired. He works spontaneously to express his emotions and invokes his guts more than his intellect. Bouba has several years teaching experience and has shown his work in Paris, NY, AZ and Santa Fe NM.
