Water-Based Monoprints / Starts June 8th, 2012 (3 days)
Due to its immediacy and painterly qualities, monoprint is highly rewarding. The class will work exclusively with water-based media. These new methods eliminate the need for solvents and makes cleanup a snap. Explore a variety of approaches to the monoprint, including additive and subtractive methods of working and chine colle, the application of thin, decorative papers. Monoprint is an easy method of print making, especially for artists who don’t want to be encumbered by complicated technical processes.
Grace Mayer has an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and has been making prints in Santa Fe for many years.
