Come get to know bast fibers and learn the basic spinning techniques used with these stiffer fibers. You will learn about flax, ramie, hemp plus a few surprises and the specifics on spinning each fiber. Spinning from the fold, off your forefinger, will be taught as one method of spinning the long staple fibers. Spinners will need to know how to use a wheel and bring their own.
