The workshop will cover the following techniques: multiple plate monotypes, stencils, calligraphs, viscosity monotypes, chine colle’, and mixed media. The class includes a discussion on various papers, inks, and tools for the monotype printing. Each person will explore their own creative visions while solving artistic and technical problems.
Emphasis is given to helping each student develop a personal knowledge of the processes. The class gives each student the opportunity to pursue in depth a project not limited to the monotype process but also encompassing the student’s own way of making art. The end product will encompass, on the second day, a detail critique of the students art works helping them with a direction in pursuing
their vision for their artwork.
