About Barbara, Studio Arts Instructor, Children’s Programs. Barbara Mayfield was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She came to New Mexico in 1991. She is a visual artist, author of the award-winning children’s novel The Magical Mrs. Iptweet and Me, Screen Actors Guild actor and puppeteer. Her paintings and monotypes have won numerous awards and are in public and private collections nationwide. Her work has been exhibited by fine galleries in NYC, Washington DC, and Philadelphia and on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.

The Magical Mrs. Iptweet and Me, Book One is the first in a series of novels for young people (ages 6 -12) and for the young-at-heart.

Oct 13: Painting the World: Day and Night Landscapes, real and imaginary.

Oct 27: Halloween Art: Painting Ghouls, Goblins, and the Great Pumpkin. We’ll explore the many traditions of All Hallows Eve!
