Venetian Plaster is my favorite medium to work in because it renders such rich and mysterious surfaces. We will create multiple layers using plaster, acrylic paints, mediums and papers. The beauty of this material is that it is so easy to use and you can embed material into the plaster and once dry you can unearth parts of it. Many layers of color, plaster, transfers, textures and objects will magically “float” to the surface as we rub back into the history to reveal bits and parts like an archeological dig. Transfers take on a dreamy quality and the final burnish and finish is satiny and smooth. Come play and create and allow yourself time to immerse yourself in your art.
All levels are welcome and individual attention is possible in this small group setting. All supplies are included in the price so you just show up for your art. The class is held in my light filled studio in Santa Fe and is limited to 8 participants. You will leave with at least 2 finished works of art. Sign up soon and email me with any questions you may have.
