Leave your chisel at home. All you need to create luscious numbers (or letters or other graphic imagery) is a block of glass, ceramic fiber paper, and the right amount of heat. This kilncarving class introduces you to “kilncarving,” a kilnforming technique that achieves a bas-relief, textured, or sculpted look in billets (slabs of glass most often used for casting because they have very few bubbles).
By the end of the workshop, you have newly acquired picture-making skills, along with a solid grasp of digital photography technology and sense of being at ease working with your digital SLR camera.
