Painting on Pottery with Kathryn Blackmun Pottery & Design

My studio is in an adobe house on 4 acres with views of the Cerrillos Hills. I specialize in hand painting colorful pottery with underglazes–with whimsical cats, birds, pigs, cowgirls and more. There’s a small kiln and slab roller, and I make pottery by shaping slabs of earthenware, usually on a mold.

Learning possibilities include: Making and painting press-mold plates with underglazes; painting commercial tiles and bisque with underglazes; Christmas ornaments; or creating a personalized hanging birdfeeder.

Lessons can be tailored to your time constraints; they can be for a few days, or for as little as two hours. I’ll be there to assist the entire time, and most supplies and firings are included. Discounts may be given for multiple days.

This is a fragrance-free and smoke-free environment.
