Painting Plein Aire with Gale Simonson
Santa Fe sits in the middle of some of the most scenic and historic landscapes in the United States. Within day-trip distances you may encounter “Georgia O’Keeffe” country, mountain vistas, strange geologic formations, adobe villages, and indigenous historical sites, all suffused with that clear light and atmosphere to which historically, painters have been drawn every year.
We are blessed with good weather, and have days when it showers and then clears to turquoise skies, air that bears the perfume of pinon and juniper, surrounded by the ancient cliffs that echo with the calls of native birds.
Come and be introduced to this landscape by a native born New Mexican. Take home your own hand painted memento from Santa Fe in the Land of Enchantment.
When: The plein air trips vary in location, and are approximately 4 hours or more with travel time. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
Where: Participants would meet at an agreed location and follow me to our painting destination in their own vehicle
