Santa Fe International Folk Dance
We promote understanding between Santa Fe’s residents with visitors from other areas of the US and abroad, and an exchange between local and international cultures through folk dancing and music. Our gatherings provide an opportunity for out-of-state visitors to meet and bond with local people, as well as for Santa Fe residents to become acquainted with other areas of the world. Our website is linked with national sites, and we have had visitors from abroad as well as diverse areas of the United States. Our dancers are amateurs. Most of our dances do not require a partner (are line dances), with some couple dances and mixers for variety. They originate in New Mexico, the Balkans, Europe, Greece, the Middle and Far East. Dancers of all levels are welcome. On Tuesdays, volunteers provide instruction from 7 to 8 pm and general dancing follows. Sundays are oriented toward beginners, with instruction the entire time.
When: Tuesdays from ~ 7 pm until 10 pm (teaching ~ 7 to 8 pm) Sundays from 6:30 to 8 pm (mostly teaching) We dance on holidays too!
