The land and light of New Mexico, which have drawn poets, artists, painters, and photographers for more than a century, will be our focus for the week. You will walk the enchanted land with photographer Craig Varjabedian, photographing a unique environment in an atmosphere of adventure and discovery. Craig has explored and photographed New Mexico for more than thirty years and will share his favorite places with you. You will explore the diverse culture, architecture, and landscape of northern New Mexico, learning how to capture its power and beauty with your camera. This workshop is terrific for all digital photographers who have a good understanding of their camera and are able to edit images on a laptop computer. Lots of enthusiasm for making pictures. Your digital camera with lenses, a tripod and filters. A laptop computer with image-editing software. (We will provide a complete list of necessary gear before the workshop begins.)
Call (505) 983-2934 to register.
While based in Santa Fe, you will travel to locations within easy reach, where you will receive one-on-one field instruction in on technical and aesthetic issues. You will also participate in class sessions, in which Craig and your fellow students will share feedback on your digital images and discuss many aspects of the medium, including histograms and how to best use a tripod.
