Brittany decided to stop taking lessons within the studios and experiment with the art of belly dancing on her own. Brittany has performed locally at numerous places including her high school graduation, various parties and events. Recently, to gain an experience in instruction, Brittany has started her own belly dance classes at her college, teaching over twelve college girls how to do the belly dance basic moves.
Brittany is changing belly dance. Being a young adult in the technological age, Brittany has taken belly dance to a new level by incorporating techno/dance/alternative music in her dancing rather than the traditional music. The change in music was a choice to draw more attention from the younger audiences.Today’s most popular music is based off modern day techno/dance/dub-step/electronica and using these genres of music in her dances, gives belly dancing a brand new feel. Using traditional moves, non traditional music makes belly dancing look more fun and exciting. The techno music tends to be full of base and electronic noises. Brittany’s choreography to techno music, puts the audience members into a trance.
