Come photograph colorful bands of wild horses against a dramatic backdrop of sage dotted mesas under the famous New Mexico sky! Lynne, author of Among Wild Horses: A Portrait of the Pryor Mountain Mustangs, in her seventh season leading wild horse photography workshops, shares her intimate knowledge of wild horses and how to best approach and photograph them. These workshops provide an educational opportunity to learn about the behavior and social dynamics of wild horses and to observe and photograph them in their natural environments. Come join us in trailing and photographing these “living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West”! The spirited stallions and their harems of mares and youngsters are one of New Mexico’s most hidden and special treasures and offer a unique photo opportunity.
Workshops are open to photographers of all levels of experience. The only requirement is that you be comfortable with your own equipment. Presentation on photographing horses, photo instruction in the field, as needed, and image review sessions are included.

I attended a one-day workshop in Placitas. Lynne was overflowing with information about the horses and their behaviors and interactions, and she provided some great pointers to help me improve my photos. Her passion for the horses is contagious and she has opened up a whole new world for me that I never new existed. I am fortunate to live near the area and am looking forward to returning again and again.
