Hike in the beautiful Santa Fe National Forest with author and educator Cinny Green and discover new creativity and connectivity with the pulse of Mother Earth. Cinny will provide a journal, pen, and a copy of her book, Trail Writer’s Guide. Cinny Green is a trained Sierra Club hike leader and an award winning author.

Participants will create three paintings or more a day in the subject matter of their choice. Other topics will include under-painting techniques, the joys of a limited palette, composition & tips for critiquing your own work.

This workshop will teach participants how to prepare and spin raw wool into warm, delightful and beautiful skeins of yarn, ready to knit or weave. History of hand spinning and use of different fibers will be discussed. Emphasis will be on the history and use of Navajo-Churro wool, which was brought here by Don Juan de Onate in 1598.

Participants will learn how common household chemicals are used to prepare all fibers (except polyester) to accept and retain the desired colors. Participants will take away knowledge of how to hand paint their own yarn, roving and warps for any future dye project.
