Printmaking Immersions on Canyon Road:

Sixteen-hour immersion workshops:
~Four consecutive days, four hours/day or by arrangement.
~Taught in a professional print studio.
~Class size is limited to four to allow for individual attention and an intimate, creative atmosphere.

Introduction to Monoprint:

Learn the basics of monoprint. Choosing papers, making a registration, mixing ink, additive, reductive and layering color.

Shellac Plate Printing:

Create drypoint etchings using shellac plates, a simple and studio friendly medium. Students will make and print from their own shellac plates, discovering the infinite possibilities of this versatile medium.


Learn the basics of hot and cold wax encaustic. We will make our own paints and complete two works on panel.

Solar Plate Printing:

Solarplate is a simple, non-toxic way to create etchings from your photographs, drawings or any image you choose.

Project Coaching:

Individual instruction/coaching is a great way to stimulate your creativity! Offered at an hourly studio rate. Portfolio review and studio immersion can be scheduled to help you make the most of your workshop, focus on a specific print project, get acquainted with printmaking and how it can relate to your work.

Hourly coaching $50/hour. 16-Hour Immersions start at $575. 10% discount for signing up with a friend. Max 4 students.

Printmaker Catherine Trapani has been making innovative prints for 25 years. She has taught absolute beginners, non-artists, and established artists of all ages. She is skilled in offering projects that help inspire artists of all disciplines to push through creative blocks.

Catherine has exhibited her prints at the Seattle Art Museum and Portland Art Museum. She has taught public and private classes and workshops in Seattle. Her work is in corporate collections, including the Westin Hotel San Francisco and Hilton Hotel Miami Beach.
